Why take part?

Every 20 minutes someone with life-changing injuries is admitted to a UK Major Trauma Centre. Surviving these injuries is just the start. Your fundraising will mean people get professional, compassionate, helpful support and advice from Day One, for as long as it takes.

We don't receive any NHS or government funding. By taking part in Walk 62 Miles in October, you'll be helping to raise vital funds so more people affected by life-changing injuries can get the support they need.

Frequently Asked Questions

How will my fundraising help?

add remove

Take on 62 Miles in October and help those affected by catastrophic injury to rebuild their lives.

£160 could pay for 8 emergency packs to help the most vulnerable homeless people leave hospital with dignity after an accident or assault.

£300 could cover the cost of a small emergency grant, helping families with the immediate out-of-pocket expenses created by an accident.

£550 could train a new Peer Support Volunteer. The demand is high for our team of amazing volunteers who have lived their own trauma and now provide people with hope and inspiration during their recovery journey.

Can I do the 62 Miles in October as part of a group?

add remove

Absolutely! We’d encourage you to get your friends, family and colleagues involved.

To sign up as a group, head on over to the 'Register' page and at the bottom there will be a question asking if you would like to join or create a team. One person will need to create the team page at the same time as registering. Once this has been completed, everyone else will be able to register individually and use the search function in this section to join this team page.

62 miles, too far or want to aim higher?

add remove

We understand that 62 miles maybe too far for some and too little for others. We welcome you to set your own target. The main goal is to get outside, have fun and make a difference.

Whatever your distance, there’s a place for you on Team Day One.
