100k in June

I am taking on 100k in June to raise money for Day One Trauma Support! 🧡

Day One are the only national charity to provide personalised care to anyone affected by any kind of catastrophic injury, their loved ones and their families – for as long it takes.

They don’t receive any Government or NHS funding and rely on the kindness of people like you. Every donation, big or small, brings me one step closer to my fundraising target

Your support today will mean the world to someone recovering from the emotional and physical trauma of a major injury.

My Updates

It’s a wrap 🥳🥳

Friday 27th Jun
Final slog up to Tarn Hows is complete with my pillion on board, piggy back style!! Only problem; she lost her house key going round on the last lap….

And then the adrenaline kicks in, thinking of patients past and present and in the future at Day One, the challenge my lovely friend is facing and still no key in sight….

The odometer hit 90kms and then my thoughts led to; let’s make it to 97kms on the bike, a very meaningful and profound number for me.

I have no idea where that extra strength came from but I’ve made it, (PT Peggles and words of encouragement from 🍌certainly helped) albeit having to call out my support Manger in an emergency, to rescue me off the bike (thank you so much 😮‍💨🤗)

So my final total stands at 112.64kms 🚴‍♀️⛰️

A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO ALL INVOLVED, YOUR GENEROSITY GOT ME OVER THE LINE 💪

Now for a big brunch at the Force and back to my bed for yet another ECN 🤣

Over and out, beer time xxx

Penultimate day 😮‍💨😮‍💨

Thursday 26th Jun

Penultimate day of my 100k complete!

This challenge is to support people sustaining a catastrophic injury.

But today I rode tandem with my lovely friend, who faces her own challenge right now. You are on this ride with me lassy😉

The tandem now has a flat, so it’s piggy backs for last 8 km to TH tomorrow 🤣

Plenty of orange & blue Lucozade and beer in the support truck, driving right behind, with the best Manager at the helm ! verifying we do every inch of this challenge!

Nearly there, we have arrived at Pull Woods and are fuelling up for the last slog of 8kms.

Thank you to everyone who has been so kind to sponsor me, your donations will mean so much!

For my support team, there is a virtual brunch at The Force afterwards!

You know who you are; special peeps, thank you from my shattered body and ❤️🚴‍♀️⛰️🤗

Week 3 😮‍💨

Saturday 21st Jun
Difficult week with mileage due to the heat… However I have set up camp on the ‘Plumgarth Roundabout’ for a day to recover and enjoy a days celebrations for my Support Manager 😉
I will be back at it and BIG time next week (with most engagements now cancelled) for the final slog to Tarn Hows and hopefully,  if I make it by Sunday, there will be a MASSIVE Sunday lunch awaiting 😁👍
See you all there or be square….
Thank you to my new sponsors this week, the total has risen again!
Let’s do this Day One Trauma Support team 💪🚴‍♀️⛰️

2nd week over and…..

Saturday 14th Jun
Getting harder and harder!!!
Total bike distance now at 45 kilometres and introducing my new trike distance total of 7.75 kilometres = I’ve now arrived at Spital bridge, 52.75 kilometres 😮‍💨
My support team are carrying me through these miles (sorry modern day now; kms!!) and again a BIG thank you team!!
2 more weeks to go; Tarn Hows seems so far away still but along with the rest of Day One, I am certain we will all make this challenge for a very worthy cause.. COME ON 💪😜

Update 1

Saturday 7th Jun
So crossing from Lancashire into the Yorkshire Dales, it has been a very wet 💦 week of virtual static bike cycling…. Made it to the Craven Arms just outside Settle and have covered 24kms. (No prizes for guessing what the fluid intake may be😉)
Recovery time is by far the worst, but my support team continue to keep my spirits up and the best news is; by burning 850 calories, I have passed the £300 mark!!! Thank you to all that have sponsored me this far. You all deserve a medal in my 👀😜

Here we go!!!!

Sunday 1st Jun
This is the start of my virtual bike challenge of 101.4kms for Day One Trauma Support, attempting to bike to one of my happy places; Tarn Hows in the Lake District, from my home in Lancashire and complete one lap of Tarn Hows, to get over the line of 100kms!!!

Thank you to ALL those who have donated and also to those special peeps who are providing additional support, in an attempt to get me there!!
See you up at THs!!! 😉😁🚴🏽‍♀️🧡
