My target 1000 kms
I am taking on 1000km in June to raise money for Day One Trauma Support! 🧡
Since 2009 I have completed 5 endurance cycle rides with one more left to do, that when pieced together will mean that I will have cycled over 5,000 miles from the most southern point of mainland Europe to the most northerly.
on June 12th I head north to my starting point of the Arctic Circle - from there I'll head 750km north to get to Nordkapp the most northerly point on mainland Europe - should take 8 days.
These rides were punctuated by an epidemic and also in 2017 I was involved in a serious road traffic accident on my (motor) bike coming off second best with a London bus - I sustained serious leg injuries. I was fortunate to make a complete recovery but others don't and there but for the grace of God go I.
So as this chapter draws to a close I am linking my final End to End ride to a very worthwhile charity that provides brilliant support for those involved in traumatic accidents:
Day One Trauma Support
They are the only national charity to provide personalised care to anyone affected by any kind of catastrophic injury, their loved ones and their families – for as long it takes.
They don’t receive any Government or NHS funding and rely on the kindness of people like you. Every donation, big or small, brings me one step closer to my fundraising target
I am aiming to top up the distance to complete 1000km in the month of June - Your support today will mean the world to someone recovering from the emotional and physical trauma of a major injury.
