Walk 62 Miles in October

I am walking, running and swimming 62 miles in October, to help raise vital funds for Day One Trauma Support!

Day One’s team at the Leeds General Infirmary were there for our family from the very beginning when we were at our lowest three weeks’ ago after the shock of my Dad’s fall, which required two emergency procedures a few days apart to treat a life-threatening traumatic head/brain injury.  Their immediate involvement and invaluable support throughout that whole week meant that we didn’t face the journey alone.  Please consider supporting the fantastic work of Day One, so that they can be there for others finding themselves in the same position we did; they make a remarkable difference to everybody’s lives every day.

Day One are the only national charity to provide personalised care to anyone affected by any kind of catastrophic injury, their loved ones and their families – for as long it takes.

They don’t receive any Government or NHS funding and rely on the kindness of people like you. Every donation, big or small, brings me one step closer to my fundraising target.

Your support today will mean the world to someone recovering from the emotional and physical trauma of a major injury.

Only two miles to go…

Monday 20th Oct
Only two miles left of my October challenge - here’s a rare selfie taken from a 7km walk around one of my favourite parts of London on Friday, in-between swimming with great company back in Birmingham at the end of the week. My Mum and I are grateful to everybody who has donated to our fundraiser and supported us along the way.

Mid-way update

Sunday 12th Oct
I’m past the half-way point - only 23 more miles of walking, swimming and running to go!
Thank you to everybody who has donated so far to our fundraiser and supported the brilliant work of Day One. Their commitment to ensuring no patient and those close to them face trauma alone is remarkable.
Your encouragement and donations mean so much to us.
